Valorlux is a non-profit organization (ASBL) whose primary mission is the coordination of selective collection and the sorting and recycling of packaging waste in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Valorlux is always going further in its environmental approach, notably with the creation of the project Spin by Valorlux, a reusable packaging loan system.

Goals for Valorlux:

Following the adoption of the law of June 9, 2022, aimed at banning single-use packaging, Valorlux wished to launch a pilot project aiming to:

  • Support its members by developing a solution in accordance with the waste law of June 9, 2022, prohibiting the use of single-use packaging for takeaway and home delivery sales starting January 1,are January 2025;
  • Allow its members to prove that reusable packaging is being rotated, which will also be part of their legal obligations. ;
  • Offer a national and accessible solution for everyone (businesses and consumers); ;
  • Gather user feedback (professionals and individuals).

Our achievements:

  1. The application Spin by Valorlux for individuals allows:
    • The use of objects:
      • Borrow items via QR code
      • Make items available via QR code
      • Locate SpinPoints (Point of Sale and Deposit)
    • Customer history visualization (current loans, return deadlines, transaction history, etc.)
    • Receiving notifications concerning the return of items under bail
  2. The application Spin by Valorlux For professionals (partners, car wash center) it allows:
    • For merchants: To lend items to their customers easily.
    • For the logistics partner: To manage containers between SpinPoints and the washing center. The goal is to ensure the daily collection of used items and the distribution of washed items.
    • For the car wash center: To strengthen controls on traceability, washing cycles, and rotation to ensure continuous compliance with food safety laws and hygiene standards.
  3. A management platform for Valorlux that allows:
    • Partner tracking and management ;
    • Billing and security deposit tracking systems;
    • Car wash monitoring and management ;
    • Statistics collection
      • The number of articles in circulation between the different stages of the rotation cycle,
      • Tracking key indicators for solution usage.
